The Beginning


Founder/Owner : Nakia Franklin Yielding a total of 11 years with the State of Texas, the first six, I was employed as a District Parole Officer taking on various positions and the remaining five years as an Administrative Judge (Hearing Officer). With my experience, tools, network of sincere individuals, knowledge, a belief in others, desire for justice, commitment to persevere, my faith and trust in God, I began taking steps as I am asking you to do. The vision to begin At The Appointed Time, A.T.A.T., was shown to me by God the Father in November of 2009 after departing my 5 year employment with the State. By way of dreams, He gave me the name, purpose, direction, and vision. He showed me a glimpse of what was to come, and daily He reveals to me the steps to take to establish a firm foundation by planting seeds (people) in my life that keeps me on fire for His will to be done. These individuals are resourceful, they see and know the need for At The Appointed Time as a central resource; they have common passions and interests to reach out and be a part of God's plan. I began my ongoing journey to initiate researching, connecting with people, and equipping myself to "Fulfill My Purpose" while I too have to confront my past. I understand my past will always be there and confronting it never ends; it is how I choose to control my life and dictate my today, my tomorrow, and my forever. How could I gain your trust without doing this? How could God trust me with you? I cannot ask of you what I am not willing to do myself. I have seen injustice done to those who genuinely desired to better themselves after being incarcerated for years and months, also those with no one who genuinely cared about their outcome. Yet, I have seen individuals who did what it took to assist people desiring to succeed on supervision and thereafter. As an Ex-Corrections Officer I have witnessed how being institutionalized can breed a sense of discontentment, lack of confidence, shatter your faith, and encourage one to shun from responsibility and independence. It bears ones choice to return to a place that appears to be easier and safer, behind the institutional walls. Some fail to understand that the life they then choose is not necessarily the life God has for them. Therefore, the visions, goals, and dreams God has placed in their heart shall never manifest if they choose not to do their part. We must remember that F.E.A.R. is only "False Evidence Appearing Real" to our senses! Are you willing confront your past, release yourself from bondage, and walk into your purpose? No matter how you arrived at this moment, what will it take for you to make it through your today? No matter what shall arise on your tomorrows are you ready to make the necessary changes and choices to succeed? Are you ready to change your behaviors?
